At Glendalough, we encourage our students to develop a genuine interest in the wellbeing and support of others. Our school embraces diversity through an inclusive environment where every student feels valued and accepted. We celebrate different cultures and backgrounds, provide adjustments for a broad range of needs and facilitate weekly social and emotional learning lessons. The Glendalough campus promotes kindness, empathy, and positive relationships among students, staff, and the wider community. We teach conflict resolution skills, promote acts of kindness, and provide support to students who may be facing challenges. Students have opportunities to make a positive contribution to both their local and global communities. This includes organising community service projects, fundraising events, and other initiatives that promote social responsibility and community engagement.
As a core value, integrity is of the utmost importance in all areas. We strive to promote honest, respectful, and responsible behaviour among our students, staff, and community. Our school models inclusivity through its commitment to supporting the diverse needs of our students and openness to the perspectives, cultures and experiences of all. We pride ourselves on the strong relationships that exist within our community. We engage daily with our parent community in a variety of ways, value student voice and always act for the common good of all at Glendalough.
Excellence does not simply refer to academic excellence, but rather excellence in all that we do. While Glendalough’s educational program aligns with the Victorian Curriculum, we also provide outstanding opportunities in music, sport, social and emotional learning and leadership. Our teaching staff facilitate learning experiences that develop literacy and numeracy skills, provoke critical and creative thinking, instil respect for self and others and encourage students to take risks, learn from their mistakes, and maintain a growth mindset.
The curriculum at Glendalough follows an inquiry-based approach, engaging students in their learning across a broad range of subjects. Guided by the Victorian Curriculum and Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools, students are provided with the opportunity to develop their understanding, knowledge and skills through a comprehensive educational program.

SELF - The way in which an individual views themselves.
OTHERS - The way in which an individual interacts and influences others through behaviours and skills.
NATURAL WORLD - The ability of an individual to connect to the natural environment around them and to gain knowledge and awareness of the impact they have upon it.
The camps at St Kevin’s have been designed to allow students to explore all three of these themes, starting in Year 3 and culminating in Year 11. The sequenced programs aim to cultivate connections between their peers and the natural world, whilst also providing opportunities for reflection on their journey towards environmental stewardship.
