An interview will be conducted with the Dean of Admissions and/or senior staff. For Prep and Year 5, enrolment interviews are conducted one year before commencement. Year 7 interviews take place two years prior.
This provides an informal opportunity for families to learn more about St Kevin's College and ask questions. The interview will cover various topics, including medical, learning or pastoral needs, and is a chance for us to get to know you and your son.
Prior to the interview, the Dean of Admissions will request:
At the interview, the Dean of Admissions may request further assessment or information from past assessments.
Formal Offer: following the interview, a formal offer of a place may be made.
The College takes a range of criteria into account when making offers of places to students because we consider it important to have an appropriately balanced College community. Information about our criteria is available in the Enrolment Policy.
If your son is not initially offered a place, we will let you know and they will either be placed on a shortlist, deferred to another point of entry or cancelled as per your request. As places become available, we offer them to children on the shortlist initially, subject to our admissions criteria.
To accept the place, a non-refundable capital levy payment of $2,500 (amount may vary depending on siblings and year commencing) is required, along with the completed paperwork by the due date.
By signing the Acceptance of Position form, families acknowledge they have read and understood all College expectations, procedures and declare that the information they have provided is true and correct.
Details regarding your son's orientation and transition will be communicated to your family during October of the year prior. We may contact families immediately prior to commencement to confirm their intention to start.
As a guide, the year before your son's commencement, students with confirmed places for Year 5 and Year 7 will undergo academic testing. We use the results of this test to provide an initial academic profile and to formulate the best learning outcomes for your son.
We seek to ensure all students have a successful and positive transition to St Kevin's College. The first few days of the new school year is set aside as orientation. These days are designed to promote the social connection between the boys, outline general expectations of the College and orientate new students to the campuses. The boys will participate in several activities, including a tour of the campus.
