Scholarships

St Kevin’s College offers a range of scholarships that recognise outstanding ability and potential across different areas, as well as supporting students whose individual circumstances may benefit from assistance. We encourage applications from boys who are eager to contribute to the life of the College and make the most of the opportunities available.

Scholarships are awarded on merit, with the number of places offered each year determined by the strength of the applicant pool and the availability of positions.

Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents to be eligible.

Scholarship application periods vary across the year depending on the scholarship category. We strongly encourage families to apply as early as possible.

Open Scholarships

Academic Excellence

Applicable for entry into Year 7 and Year 9.

• Year 7 is currently open for entry into 2027, with the closing date for applications being Thursday 30 April 2026.
• Year 7 Academic Excellence Scholarship will take place on Saturday 9 May 1.30pm. 
   
• Year 9 is currently open for entry into 2027, with the closing date for applications being Thursday 14 May 2026.
• Year 9 Academic Excellence Scholarship will take place on Saturday 23 May 1.30pm. 

General Excellence

Applicable for entry into Year 7 and Year 10.

• Year 7 is currently open for entry into 2027, with the closing date for applications being Thursday 30 April 2026.  
• Year 7 General Excellence Scholarship will take place on Saturday 9 May 1.30pm. 
   
• Year 10 is currently open for entry into 2027, with the closing date for applications being Thursday 14 May 2026.
• Year 10 General Excellence Scholarship will take place on Saturday 23 May 1.30pm. 

St Patrick's Cathedral Choral Scholarship

Currently open for entry into 2027, the closing date for applications is Friday 6 March.

Please note that for all Scholarship Testing Dates, applicants must be available on the scheduled day. This is the only testing session offered and no alternative or make-up date will be available. 
Test bookings close one week before the testing date.

Edmund Rice Scholarship

A means-tested scholarship available for entry into Year 7 or Year 10.

Scholarships are available only to students who are Australian citizens or permanent residents.

Selection is based on a holistic review of each applicant, including:

• Strong academic results
• Excellent behaviour and consistent effort, as demonstrated in the previous four school reports
• Active involvement and meaningful contribution in their chosen field at their current school
• Eligibility under the College's means-testing requirements
